Delaney Schnell is an Olympian again.
The Tucson native and former Arizona diver punched her ticket to represent USA in the summer Olympics in Paris on Tuesday.
With a contingent of supportive family members wearing UA garb in attendance, Schnell and 10-meter syncro diving partner Jessica Parratto qualified for the Paris games at the Olympic trials in Knoxville, Tennessee.
"It's still unreal," Schnell said on NBC on Tuesday. "I'm still kind of in shock, honestly. Making an Olympic team for the second, third (time), whatever, the feeling never gets old."
Schnell and Parratto won a silver medal as a diving tandem in Tokyo. The upcoming Olympics will be the second go-around for Schnell — third for Parratto.
"I'm just really excited. I never thought I'd be here," Parratto said. "Definitely didn't believe going to my third Olympics, so I have (Schnell) to thank for that one, pulling me out of retirement."
When Schnell "was a young diver, Jessica was one of the divers I looked up to," Schnell said.
"She was one of the older girls and I wanted to be her, I wanted to be them up there on 10-meter, and it's cool to win a silver medal with her (in) my first Olympics with her and now the next Olympics with her," Schnell said.
Schnell looks to build on her impressive diving resume, which includes a platform diving national championship, three-time Pac-12 Diver of the Year recipient, Pac-12 champion, Pac-12 Freshman Diver of the Year, in addition to her silver medal from the last Olympics.
Due to the pandemic, the previous Olympics in Tokyo didn't have spectators in attendance. Schnell said on Tuesday she's "going to lean on Jess a lot, because she was (in the Olympics) in 2016 with the fans in the stands, so it's going to be something new for me and I'm really looking forward to it."
Schnell is the latest former UA student-athlete to qualify for the Olympics this year. Former Arizona basketball star Chase Budinger, 36, will also represent USA as a beach volleyball player.
The Olympics in Paris begin on July 26.
