The 20th-ranked Arizona beach volleyball team earned a split Sunday in the Hawaii Invitational in Honolulu, defeating No. 14 Georgia State 3-2 in the afternoon before falling to No. 8 Hawaii 4-1 in the evening.

The Wildcats’ win over the Panthers was their third vs. a ranked opponent this season.

The matchup at No. 1 between Arizona’sΒ Sarah BlackerΒ andΒ Alex ParkhurstΒ and GSU’sΒ Angel FeraryΒ andΒ Bella FeraryΒ decided the outcome. Blacker and Parkhurst prevailed in three sets, winning the third 15-10.

Abby RussellΒ andΒ Hope Shannon, at No. 2, got the lone win for Arizona vs. Hawaii.

The Wildcats played four matches in all in the Hawaii Invitational. They lost to GSU (4-1) and Hawaii (3-2) on Saturday.

Arizona (19-9) hosts Arizona State for Senior Day on Friday. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Bear Down Beach.

The UA beach volleyball tandem of Kali Uhl and Dilara Gedikoglu went 4-0 last weekend, including a win over their opponent from second-ranked USC on Saturday, April 8, 2023. On the season, together Uhl and Gedikoglu are 13-0 overall, and 11-0 out of the Wildcats' fourth position. They're the second-ranked No. 4 pair in the nation to date.
