Deion James

Pima’s Deion James is “probably the most skilled 4-man west of the Mississippi who’s still being recruited,” says his coach, Brian Peabody. James has dozens of Division I offers.

Pima College star Deion James has been named a first-team NJCAA All-American, one of the highest honors ever awarded an Aztecs player. 

The sophomore forward averaged 20.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and one block per game last season. He was named the ACCAC Co-Player of the Year and a member of ACCAC's first team. He was also bnamed the Region I, Division II championship game's most valuable player. Led by James, Pima won 22  games and qualified for the NJCAA Division II Tournament. 

James is the fifth player in Pima history to be named an NJCAA All-American, and the second since 1991. Murphy Gershman was an All-American in 2015.

James is an Empire High School product who began his college career at North Carolina A&T before transferring to Pima. James is expected to choose his next college soon.
