Justin Bessard scored 21 points and Ilunga Moise scored 17 points and grabbed 24 rebounds Tuesday, and the Pima College men's basketball team won its first-round game at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Danville, Illinois.

The second-seeded Aztecs beat No. 15 College of Southern Maryland 108-84 to advance to the quarterfinals for the second straight year. They outscored their opponents by 22 points in the second half to advance.

Pima will take on either Richard Bland College or Highlight Community College on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Tucson time. The winner will advance to the NJCAA semifinals.

Freshmen Abram Carrasco and Jeremiah Bailey came off the bench to combine for 33 points. The Aztecs' reserves scored a total of 41 points.
