First round play at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship has been canceled for the day because of snow and wet conditions.

The tournament was officially suspended at 1:05 p.m.

Play is scheduled to resume tomorrow at 8:30 a.m., with players picking up where they left off.

The first tee time belongs to Peter Hanson and Thomas Bjorn at 8:40 a.m. The overall top seed, Rory McIlroy, will tee off at 9:10 a.m., against Shane Lowry. Tiger Woods and Charles Howell III will begin at 9:30.

The second round is expected to begin around midday tomorrow after everyone has teed off in round one. An exact start time hasn't been announced.

The weather is expected to cooperate tomorrow, something that didn't happen today.

Rain and then show moved into the area shortly before 11 a.m., and picked up strongly in a span of minutes. An initial delay went into effect at 11:07 a.m.

Fans who held tickets to today's action can return for Sunday's semifinal and championship matches for free by bringing their Wednesday ticket to the gate. Pre-paid Wednesday parking passes will also be honored.

Sergio Garcia and Thongchai Jaidee teed off on time at 7:25 a.m., to start the day and made it through 15 holes.

All total, 23 of the 32 matches scheduled for today teed off. Garcia and Jaidee made it the farthest.
