After two seasons at Arizona, walk-on guard Paulo Cruz is moving on.
Cruz, from San Diego, has transferred toΒ CalΒ Poly-SanΒ LuisΒ Obispo, the school announced on Friday.
The 6-4, 210-pounder announced his decision on Instagram at the end of June, writing in a post about the transfer that he wanted to "thank ArizonaΒ and everyone there for providing me with two of the most memorable years of my life."
Cruz joined the Wildcats just before Arizona's first game of the 2015-16 season, and has played in 14 games in two years at UA. Last year, Cruz played a total of 21 minutes, nine of them coming in a win against Sacred Heart when he grabbed two rebounds.
Cruz will have two years of eligibility at Cal Poly.Β
"Paulo has great range on his jumper and we like his size and strength for a wing," Cal Poly coach Joe Callero said in a press release. "He could compete for playing time at the two or three spot his first year with us. We love the depth and experience he'll bring to our team."
The Wildcats already have another walk-on set to join the roster this season after addingΒ Mater Dei'sΒ Matt WeyandΒ last month.Β
Weyand was rated a two-star recruit by Scout.com and at Mater Dei, a Southern California powerhouse that also produced UA alum Stanley Johnson, Weyand averaged 4.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game as a senior.
