The Georgia Bulldogs are looking for their third consecutive title and are the frontrunners heading into the season, which kicks off in August.

Joey Logano won the first NASCAR Cup Series race of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 19.

NASCAR heads back to Atlanta for the second time this season, but this Sunday the Cup Series will race under the lights of the 1.54-mile track.

This will be the first night race since Atlanta Motor Speedway was reconfigured between the 2021 and 2022 seasons to narrow the racing surface and raise the turns to 28 degrees of banking.

Joey Logano won the first race at Atlanta back in March. It’s the only victory of the season for the driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford.

Kevin Harvick has the most Atlanta wins out of any current driver with three. Brad Keselowski, who finished runner-up to Logano in March, is tied with Kyle Busch for two career victories at the Atlanta track.

While Hamlin’s only Cup win at Atlanta came in 2010, the driver of the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota has done well at the 1.54-mile track.

In 26 career starts, Hamlin has 10 top-10s, including six top-5 finishes, for an average finish of 17.

This season, Hamlin is sixth in driver points, racking up one win (Kansas), and five top-5s.

The veteran racer should be able to handle the night racing under the new configuration at Atlanta to take his second checkered flag of the season.

Top-3 finish: William Byron (+400)

William Byron is tied with Kyle Busch for most wins this season with three and is second in Cup points.

Byron entered victory lane back-to-back weeks at Las Vegas and Phoenix in the third and fourth races of the season, then won at Darlington in May.

In 18 races this season, Byron has seven top-5s and 10 top-10s.

In eight career starts at Atlanta, the driver of the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy has one win (spring 2022) and two top-10s.

Finally breaking through at Atlanta earlier this year, Logano should be able to continue the success at the track this weekend.

In 19 career Atlanta races, Logano has seven top-10s, including three top-5s. his average finish is 15.9.

This season, Logano is 10th in driver points and has nine top 10s in 18 starts.
