That Sean Miller-Kaleb Tarczewski confrontation stayed alive Saturday in Seattle, where copies of that well-circulated photo of Miller pointing at his senior center were distributed on student section seats behind the UA bench (with accompanying instructions for students to also point at Miller).
But Tarczewski, available for comment today for the first time since the Jan. 28 incident in the UA-Oregon game, said itβs out of his memory.
βI honestly forgot that even happened,β Tarczewski said. βWasnβt a big deal.β
While the moment generated plenty of digital buzz, Tarczewski described it this way:
βBasketball is an emotional sport, especially when youβre in a tough game like that. Sometimes your emotions come out kind of in a weird way. People on the outside can say what they think β¦ but Iβve said it a million times: Coach Miller is the best coach in the country. He cares about each one of us.β
When asked if that sort of interaction was typical if things arenβt going well, Tarczewski said βif you make a mistake, youβre going to have to suffer the consequences.β
