Rich Rodriguez has often said if he can get a recruit to visit Arizona's campus, he always feels like the Wildcats have a shot.

This month, Arizona will get their shot at a highly sought after four-star prospect —Bruce Judson of Cocoa HS (Fl.)., the No. 6-rated 2017 athlete in the South according to Scout.com.

"I heard it's a great place, I can't wait to come up," Judson told the Star in a text message. "They have a great offense I know I can fit well in and play as a freshman."

Judson will visit Tucson the weekend of Jan. 18, the same weekend the Wildcats are set to have a few recruits on campus, including 2016 athlete Jessie Britt from Auburndale, Florida.

Judson played quarterback this past season for Cocoa and ran for 1,425 yards and 17 touchdowns while passing for 11 more. He has offers from Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Miami (Fl.), Ohio State, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Kentucky, North Carolina, Temple and South Florida, so clearly getting Judson on campus is a big deal for the Wildcats.

Some more quick hits

  • The Wildcats have been aggressive in their recruiting down South lately, particularly in New Orleans where they have offered two guys from the 2016 class — defensive backs Jarrius Wallace (John Ehret HS) and Clifford Chattman (McDonough 35 HS). They're both 3-star recruits, and Chattman is particularly intriguing at 6-foot-5. He was previously committed to LSU before re-opening his recruitment. Calvin Magee, Arizona's offensive coordinator, recruits New Orleans.
  • Most of the UA's early enrollees have arrived on campus. Confirmed so far: corner Antonio Parks, safety Isaiah Hayes, offensive lineman Harper Sherman. Linebacker Kahi Neves, tight end Jamie Nunley and offensive lineman Keenan Walker have told me they'll be here in the next day or two. Quarterback Khalil Tate will be in town tomorrow
  • Junior college linebacker Emmanuel Beal told me he's not sure yet when he'll be visiting the Wildcats but that a date will be set soon. I wouldn't be surprised if it was that same Jan. 18 weekend. He was originally recruited by defensive line coach Bill Kirelawich, but since he was fired safeties coach Matt Caponi has been leading the charge and offered him a couple days ago. Beal said he was "relieved" to get the offer.
  • Walker, who tore an ACL at Scottsdale Chaparral last year, told me that he doesn't anticipate being ready in time to play in the spring, but is hoping to return to football activities in time for fall camp. Walker grayshirted the 2015 season after his injury. He was Arizona's top recruit in its class last year.
  • I'll have more on Beal, the early enrollees, offensive lineman Michael Eletise and some other recruiting stuff in the coming days and, obviously, weeks, leading up to the Feb. 5 national signing day. Stay tuned.
