A couple of players who were, at certain points, Arizona targets for 2016 have signed National Letters of Intent to play elsewhere.
They are both from San Diego β linebacker Troy Cassidy of Carlsbad will play at San Diego State, and defensive lineman Josiah Sa'o of Kearney Senior at Vanderbilt.Β
Sa'o had Arizona in his final two, but ultimately decided to sign with the Commodores. A two-star recruit, according to Scout.com, Sa'o is listed at 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds.
Cassidy, a 3-star linebacker and the No. 7 outside linebacker in California, picked SDSU over offers from 13 schools, including Arizona.
With other top UA targets: DB Calvin Bundage, from Oklahoma, is expected to sign with Oklahoma State and athlete Victor Viramontes is likely to commit to California.Β
Five-star linebacker Connor Murphy, a one-time UA target, committed to USC over Michigan and Arizona State on Wednesday. The Wildcats were never a real candidate.Β
