Arizona senior starter Cam Walty throws against Dallas Baptist in the early innings of their NCAA Tournament elimination game Saturday, June 1, at Hi Corbett Field.
Cam Walty’s prolific offseason continued Wednesday when the Arizona right-hander was named a third-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Walty became the first UA pitcher to earn All-America recognition since Vince Vannelle in 2021 and the first starting pitcher to be so honored since Nathan Bannister in ’16.
After starting the season in the bullpen, Walty emerged as an indispensable third starter for the Wildcats. The senior tied for the Pac-12 lead with eight wins, and his 3.29 ERA was the third best mark in the league.
Walty yielded just 13 walks in 90⅓ innings, and his 1.30 BB/9 rate ranks sixth nationally and third best in UA program history.
