For the first time this season, the Arizona Wildcats will play a game under the sun.

Arizona's road contest with No. 17 BYU in Provo next Saturday will kick off at 1 p.m. on Fox. It's the third game on Fox this season for Arizona.

The Wildcats are 12-12-1 all-time against BYU dating back to 1936. Arizona and BYU have matched up as nonconference in recent years. Arizona kicked off the 2016 season against BYU in Glendale, then opened up the Kevin Sumlin era in 2018 with a loss in Tucson. Arizona also started the Jedd Fisch era against BYU in Las Vegas, with the Cougars winning 24-16. Since Arizona beat BYU in the 2008 Las Vegas Bowl, the Wildcats have lost three straight to the Cougars.

BYU has traditionally packed its schedule with Pac-12 opponents — in fact, the Cougars played Arizona last week in Las Vegas, and will take on Utah on Saturday. That’s bound to change now that the Cougars have agreed to join the Big 12.

The last time Arizona played in Provo was in 2007, which was a 20-7 loss for the Wildcats.

Arizona (3-1) faces Texas Tech (4-1) for its Big 12 home opener at Arizona Stadium this Saturday at 8 p.m. on Fox.
