The University of Arizona will pay former Athletic Director Dave Heeke his base salary through March 2025, the end of his contract, along with any earned incentive payments, a UA spokeswoman confirmed Thursday.
UA President Robert C. Robbins announced Monday that Heeke is out after seven years as athletic director and that the university is launching a national search for his successor.
"We are honoring the financial terms of Dave Heekeβs contract," UA spokeswoman Pam Scott told the Arizona Daily Star Thursday, when asked to confirm those details, which were first reported by Star sports columnist Greg Hansen.
"Dave Heeke will be paid his base salary through the end of his employment contract on March 31, 2025, in addition to any earned incentive payments. The salary totals $1,042,500 and additional incentive compensation for FY2023-24 will be calculated," Scott wrote in an email.Β
Scott also wrote, "Much of the information and speculation regarding the reasons for the transition of Dave Heeke have been inaccurate or flat-out wrong. Dave was a valuable member of our University community and we wish him well."
