A new Federal Aviation Administration ban on drone flights over large stadiums hosting NCAA games is in effect for this week's Territorial Cup matchup.

The FAA ban covers the entire day for games held at stadiums seating at least 30,000 people.

Friday's matchup between Arizona State and Arizona in Tucson meets those conditions because Arizona Stadium seats more than 56,000 fans.

The FAA ban covers all types of aircraft, not just drones, and will apply to all future NCAA games at large stadiums.

Violators can face federal criminal charges.
