Another day brings more preseason accolades for Scooby, Solomon

Linebacker Scooby Wright and quarterback Anu Solomon have been named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Year Watch List, the foundation announced Friday.

The honors are just the latest for both players.  

Wright, the Pac-12's top returning defender, has also been named to the Bednarik, Nagurski, Butkus and Lombardi watch lists, and is a member of three preseason All-America teams.

Solomon, a sophomore, is also included on the Maxwell and Davey O’Brien watch lists. 

It's been a banner preseason for the UA in terms of exposure. In total, eight players — Wright, Solomon, offensive tackle Freddie Tagaloa, wide receiver Cayleb Jones, running back Nick Wilson, kicker Casey Skowron, punter Drew Riggleman and safety Will Parks — and coach Rich Rodriguez have been named to watch lists for 13 awards, one more than in the past three years combined.
