When Jake Johnson won a state championship as part of the Mica Mountain High football team last week, he added to an impressive family legacy of winners. Jake, a senior wide receiver and safety for the Thunderbolts, and his older siblings now have six state championships between them. Jenna Johnson won two volleyball state titles as a standout for Salpointe Catholic and Jordy Johnson won three while playing softball for Salpointe. Their mom, Amy, coached the Mica Mountain girls volleyball team to the 4A state championship match last month. And their dad, Sean, is a longtime high school football coach who guided a Tucson Pop Warner football team to a national championship in the 1990s. What a family.
