Calling all treasure hunters! Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is having its own tiny gem show this weekend.

Buy, learn and play with local and worldwide minerals in the museum'sΒ Baldwin Education Building.

You'll see some calcite, amethyst, gemstones, copper and fossils at Mineral Madness. You can buy these shiny things for as low as 50 cents. 50 cents!Β The vendors accept cash, card and check.Β 

On Saturday and Sunday there are children-only activities. It's the perfect learning experience. Kids 16-and-under can visit activity stations throughout the museum with an egg carton to learn about and collect free rocks and mineral specimens. Bring your own egg carton.Β 

Visit the rest of the museum before, after β€” or during β€” your shopping. You don't have to pay more to visit Mineral Madness, it is included in the museum admission.Β

Cost: Included in admission.Β General Admission (ages 13-64) is $20.50, seniors (65+) pay $18.50, children 3-12 pay $8 and children under 3 are free.
