Just for Kids

TSO musicians often done costumes for the monthly Just for Kids concerts. The Wind Quintet is performing at Saturday's concert at Tucson Symphony Center. 

Who says the symphony isn't for kids.

Certainly not Tucson Symphony Orchestra, its series — TSO Just for Kids — caters to children with fun interactive shows designed just for them.

Here are three upcoming shows you can take the family to.

Peter and the Wolf

What: TSO's Wind Quintet brings Peter and the Wolf to life. Will Peter catch the wolf with his friends, the bird, cat and duck? Dress up as your favorite animal and find out.

When: 10 a.m. to noon, Sept. 23

Where: Tucson Symphony Orchestra, 2175 N. Sixth Ave.

In the Desert with Cowboy Elmo

What: The kids can wear their best cowboy duds to help solve a desert mystery. Music and story by TSO violinist Ilona Vukovic-Gay.

When: 10 a.m. to noon, Oct. 21

Where: Tucson Symphony Orchestra, 2175 N. Sixth Ave.

Cost: $3 suggested admission

Have the kids wear their favorite cowboy outfits and help solve a desert mystery. Admission is free, but TSO suggests $3 per person at the door.

Sam and the Crazy Daisy

What: The TSO Trio will tell you the story of Sam and the Crazy Daisy, written by TSO violinist Michael Fan. Have the kids bring their favorite stuffed animal.

When: 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 18

Where: Tucson Symphony Orchestra, 2175 N. Sixth Ave.
