If you've never been to Tohono Chul this might the perfect chance to go because during the time of the sale, you'll get in for free. Then you can roam around the rest of the gardens to see what else is part of the Tohono Chul collection. 


2. Add to your cactus collection

Or start a cactus collection. The Monsoon Madness Plant Sale carries a variety of shrubs, succulents and cacti. Find the plant that you relate with the most.


3. Meet other desert plant enthusiasts

This event is bringing in plenty of local growers and plant experts available for questions and recommendations. Check out the list of plant vendors and experts here.


4. Learn something new

There are two scheduled lectures on Friday and one on Saturday. 

  • Landscape Cacti will teach you how plants take up water from 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday
  • Arid Adaptations will teach you about aloes from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday
  • Dave Palzkill will teach you about repotting and pruning addeniums from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday

5. Go for the perfect Instagram opportunity

Show off some of the greatest things Tucson and the desert has to offer. You'll friends won't think twice about double tapping your photo.


6. Catch some Pokemon while you're there

Tohono Chul loves Pokemon Go. The park has 13 PokeStops and a Gym. If you're not going during the sale, you can go any other day and get 50 percent off admission when you show the app and provide your handle.
