Good clean fun at YMCA

Caden Seiferth puzzles out his next move as he takes on his dad, Pete, during a game of Giant Chess at the Pima County Public Library's booth at the annual Healthy Kids Day at the Northwest YMCA, Tucson, AZ., Sat., April 17, 2010. Mike Reuwsaat (MIKE REUWSAAT) executive director of the Northwest YMCA estimated 1,500 kids attended the day's expo featuring booths, exhibits, games and demonstrations by 45 exhibitors. The fair is an attempt to expose kids to options for good clean fun. "We're showing some healthy lifestyle choices for families," said Reuwsaat. "There are a lot of opportunities to be active and creative."

Saturday is Healthy Kids Day at the Northwest YMCA and the public is invited to celebrate.

Free festivities that promote healthy kids and families will take place throughout the day including bounce houses, superhero training, health screenings, arts and crafts, games, face painting, a fire truck and more.

If your kids love mermaids, make sure they hang out with Mermaid Odette at the pool while she teaches them about the importance of safety around water.

You can also sign up for summer camps while you're there and the YMCA will be offering a $0 joining fee for families who want to join the Y.
