The Hermitage is hosting a new monthly program for kids.

If your kids love cats, we've got the purrfect event for them.

Hermitage Cat Shelter is hosting its new Kids' Club program Saturday, for children ages 6 to 12.

Every first Saturday of the month, the kids can go to Hermitage for games, crafts, educational lessons, a snack and, of course, cuddle time with the kitties.

And get this: You can drop them off. You are welcome to stay and play with the cats, but you don't have to.

The idea stemmed from the shelter's summer program, Cat Camp.

"We've done Cat Camp for several years," said Ashley Davis, Hermitage's community outreach coordinator. "This past summer, several kids lamented having to wait an entire year to come back. Then one girl said 'I wish we could do this every month' and I said 'We can.' And that is how Kids' Club was born."
