Split a chocolate bomb

The chocolate bomb is chocolate cake with a scoop of chocolate mousse, robed in ganache, rolled in shaved chocolate and topped with drizzled chocolate.

Created by pastry chef Lora Quarrella, the chocolate bomb features layers of chocolate sponge cake, ganache and mousse, rolled in chocolate shavings and then glazed in a blanket of more ganache. The ice cream is made from sweet red mung beans and coconut milk, with some vanilla bean paste and vegan sugar to round it out. The shop is also doing heart-shaped brownie ice cream sandwiches, $4.60, which are big enough to share with your bae.

Barrel-Aged Beer at Pueblo Vida

The downtown brewery is holding a night to celebrate its collaboration with the local whiskey distiller Hamilton Distillers. Starting at 4 p.m., bartenders will tap the final keg of "2016 Resonance," an imperial stout that's infused with coffee, coconut and vanilla and aged in Whiskey del Bac barrels, in addition to a barrel-aged Hefeweizen they call "Fassweizen."
