Gas prices continued to slip across Arizona this week, but the national average edged up as crude-oil prices remained elevated, AAA says.

The statewide average gas price fell more than 2 cents in a week to $3.55 per gallon of regular on Friday, while the nationwide average rose about a penny to $3.51 per gallon.

Tucson's average gas price dipped more than 3 cents to $3.47 per gallon.

Yuma had the state's lowest average gas price at $3.38 per gallon, while Scottsdale had the highest at $3.69.

Oil prices have risen recently past $80 per barrel and gasoline inventories are down, pressuring pump prices upward, AAA says.

Analyst Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy.com cited large declines in both oil and gasoline inventories this week.
