Tucsonan Ferguson's baseball career matched by fewย

Tucsonanย Bruce Ferguson, who died of a heart ailment last week at 60, had a baseball career matched by few, if any, in Tucson history. He was the team MVP for Sahuaroโ€™s 1974 state baseball championship team. A year later, he was a key pitcher as Yavapai College won the NJCAA World Series. And in 1976, as a junior at Arizona, he went 3-1 as the UA won the College World Series. Ferguson entered Game 3 of the World Series against Clemson and pitched the final 5 2/3 innings, the winning pitcher in a 10-6 game. Three years, three championships, all at different levels. Ferguson later became a Tucson Conquistador, helping operate PGA Tour events for a decade while operating his own financial services business.ย
