He knew the playbook back to front. That’s why T.J. McConnell is apt to stick in the NBA for a few years. He is a shorter Jud Buechler. Every NBA team has 15 players on the bench per game (12 active) and those from Nos. 11-15 don’t have to be stars. They just have to buy in, stay ready, and, like McConnell, realize that it’s not about him.
