Arizonaβs 1989 All-Pac-10 outfielderΒ Kevin Long, fired as the New York Yankeesβ hitting instructor two weeks ago, was hired by the New York Mets in the same capacity last week. Long, 47, had been the Yankeesβ hitting coach for eight years.
