UA's Tonnesen finishes 18th in international competition

With Blockburger’s departure to USC, Arizona senior Pau Tonnesen — No.  2 in the NCAA finals in June — found himself without a coach for the ongoing world championships in China. Harvey was prepared for that, too. UA volunteer jumps coach Bob Myers, who was a full-time coach under Arizona’s Dave Murray from 1977 to 1992, coaching three Olympians, accompanied Tonnesen to China. Tonnesen finished 18th overall in his first crack at international competition. He was a member of Spain’s team; Tonnesen’s mother was born in Spain.
