Yankees trade could make ex-Cat Refsnyder expendable

Arizona’s 2012 College World Series MVP Robert Refsnyder had a bittersweet week. He was married on Saturday to former UA swimming standout Monica Drake. Three days earlier, his team, the New York Yankees, traded for Chicago Cubs infielder Starlin Castro, which makes Refsnyder, 24, expendable. Refsnyder started at second base in the American League wild-card game in October, and overall played in 16 MLB games. Castro is a three-time All-Star who, at 25, has already played in 891 MLB games.
