If you live within the Tucson city limits, you can recycle that jar. There are a couple of rules, though.
Rinse out the jar so there are no food particles left. Wash the lid and put it back on the jar or else toss the lid in the trash. Don't recycle it separately. You can leave the label on the jar.
After some back and forth with Waste Management, it appears glass is recyclable, but leave the lids off and put them in the trash.
