Last week: Lost to Colorado 38-24

This week: vs. Washington (Friday, 1:30 p.m., Fox)

Comment: I don’t want to say last week’s game was meaningless for the Cougars, who still had an outside chance at the CFP. But it basically was. Win or lose, WSU still controlled its fate in the Pac-12 North. USC faced a similar situation last year, losing at Oregon before beating UCLA to take the South. Although the Apple Cup is in Pullman, I’d be worried if I were a Cougars fan. WSU allowed 603 yards (and 8.4 yards per play) to a Colorado offense that couldn’t crack 400 against Arizona.
