Last week: Lost to Utah 31-27

This week: vs. ASU (Saturday, 5:30 p.m., Fox)

Comment: Kind of a surprise here — the Trojans didn’t fall in the rankings at all despite losing for the third time this season, making it their worst start in 15 years. The talent is there, but otherwise it’s a mess, and Nice Guy Clay Helton feels like a dead man walking. There’s still certainly time to salvage the season — and save Helton’s job — but there’s not much reason to think that will happen. Although, ASU is certainly beatable, and new quarterback Sam Darnold showed flashes of brilliance against Utah.
