Arizona head coach Sean Miller calls in the play from the sidelines against Wichita State during the second half of their opening round game at the NCAA Regional, Dunkin' Donuts Center, Wednesday, March 17, 2016, Providence, R.I. Kelly Presnell / Arizona Daily Star

Sweating on the sidelines

Sean Miller was trending on Thursday, and it had nothing to do with Arizona’s NCAA Tournament performance.

Miller sweat through his white button-up shirt on national television, causing the Twitterverse to temporarily explode.

Arizona managers retrieved a new shirt for Miller at halftime.

“We always bring two shirts,” said Brian Brigger, Arizona’s equipment manager.

It looked crisp and clean, for a while. Soon into the second half, the sweat returned — and for good reason. The Wildcats were behind.

Here’s a sampling of Thursday’s tweets:

@TimRingTV: Who threw Sean Miller in the pool before the game?

@FakeSeanMiller: ”Losing at halftime but winning the wet t shirt contest”

@FranFraschilla: “Managers have gone back to Arizona hotel to get Sean Miller another dress shirt. Needs a dry-fit.”

Miller heard about it in person, too. A Wichita State fan screamed, “Sean Miller! You’re not sweating enough! You gotta sweat more! You think I’m kidding? You gotta sweat more!” in the first half.
