Members of the Globe Hotshots burnout an area between Ramsey Canyon Road, north to Kachina Road and west of Arizona Hwy 92 at the Monument Fire on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in Sierra Vista, Ariz. The crews work along a bulldozer line using drip torches which contain a mixture of diesel and gas. The burnout is to create a contingency line to protect the homes in the area. Photo by A.E. The Monument Fire began June 12, 2011, in the Huachuca Mountains near Sierra Vista. Some among the Cochise County Sheriff's Department and Border Patrol thought the fire was caused by illegal migrants but investigators were unable to determine if this were true, though they did determine it was human caused.
