The Tucson Jewish Community Center has added a staffer: Matt Meyer joins the center as director of sports and recreation. Meyer received a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education and recreation at Kansas Wesleyan University, where he received a scholarship to play basketball. He has been involved in the athletic and recreation field for more than 15 years. Meyer is a sixth-generation Tucsonan, and Meyer Avenue in downtown Tucson is named after his great-great-great grandfather, Charlie Meyer.
