Ironwood Ridge's Soma Ikaika Helu (28) hurdles over Nogales' Jhorsen Lopez (5) and into the end zone for a touchdown in the third quarter of their game at Ironwood Ridge High School, Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, Oro Valley, Ariz. Kelly Presnell / Arizona Daily Star

Well, it had to happen sometime. The Nighthawks (4-1) finally fell last week, losing to Queen Creek, 37-12. Losing is never fun, but Ironwood Ridge's loss came on the road to one of the better Class 5A teams in the state; Queen Creek improved to 5-1. That's why the Nighthawks only fell two spots to No. 3 in this week's power poll.

Things don't get any any easier for I-Ridge this week. The Nighthawks host a surging Mountain View team that's ranked No. 4 in our poll. It's certainly a toss-up game, but we expect I-Ridge to come out with a win, primarily because it's the home team.
