Mountain View vs. Salpointe Catholic

Salpointe's Kameron Carmickle (8) gets the ball away just before the arrival of Mountain View's Alex Magana (82) in the fourth quarter of their game at Salpointe Catholic High School, Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, Tucson, Ariz. Kelly Presnell / Arizona Daily Star

The Lancers have won their last two games by a combined score of 84-35. The fact that both were road games makes them even more impressive. Salpointe Catholic has a balanced offense that can score through the air or on the ground, so the Lancers match up well with lots of opponents.

This week, however, could present all kinds of problems. The Lancers host No. 1 Cienega on Friday night, and the Bobcats blew out Tucson High 66-34 last week. Salpointe's only loss this season came against Tucson High, which leads us to believe the Lancers will suffer their second loss of the season this week. Salpointe likely will drop out of our rankings after Friday night, at least for a week.
