When former UA athletic directorΒ Greg ByrneΒ arrived for his new job at Alabama, he wasnβt the only Tucsonan getting attention in the Crimson Tide athletic department. FreshmanΒ Maddie Pothoff, who had remarkable success on the USTA circuit during her school days in Tucson, became part of Alabamaβs top doubles tennis team.
Pothoff and her βBama partnerΒ Erin Routliffe, enter the May 24-29 NCAA Tennis championships as the No. 5 ranked doubles team. Both earned first-team All-American honors
