Last week: Lost to Colorado 40-16

This week: vs. Washington State (7 p.m., Pac-12 Networks)

Comment: We all were skeptical of Arizona State’s legitimacy in the South, and our skepticism proved warranted after the Sun Devils’ debacle of a performance against Colorado. ASU was one of just three unanimous rankings this week, along with Washington at No. 1 and Cal further down in the rankings. With their upcoming schedule — Washington State, Oregon, Utah, Washington — there’s a legitimate scenario where the Sun Devils head into the Territorial Cup still seeking bowl eligibility.
