No homes were destroyed in the fire that burned 46,911 acres, but some were evacuated in the Greaterville and Singing Valley area, and others were on evacuation alert. Arizona 83 was closed at the fire's peak. Almost 800 firefighters battled the blaze that lasted nearly a week.
