Quarterback Alex Bell (8), of Sabino, runs out of bounds as Enrique Borboa (22) and Gary Morken (13), of Sahuaro, try to tackle him in the second half during a game at Sabino High School on Thursday, August 18, 2016. Sabino won 41-35.

Matchup: SABINO SABERCATS (1-0) at Sahuaro Cougars (0-0)

Where: 545 N. Camino Seco

One of the most historic rivalry games in Southern Arizona was a shootout last season, with the Sabercats winning 41-35. This year's game will be won in the trenches: Sahuaro has 11 linemen over 6 feet tall, while Sabino has seven. If the Cougars can get to Sabino quarterback Alex Bell, who scored three touchdowns last week, then Sahuaro has a fighting chance. However, after back-to-back wins in 2015 and 2016, the Sabercats get the three-peat in a nail-biter, 35-31.
