Insurance man Marquez will lead 2016-17 United Way campaign
Edmund Marquez, owner of three Allstate Insurance agencies in Tucson, was named the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona 2016-2017 campaign chair.
βUnited Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona is uniting a force against poverty and its annual campaign funds its work along with its more than 80 partner agencies. Eighty-nine cents of every dollar donated directly to United Way goes to fund programs,β the organization said in a news release.
Marquez, a University of Arizona graduate, serves on eight boards of directors, including the Rio Nuevo Multipurpose Facilities District, Sun Corridor Inc. and Southern Arizona YMCA. He is on the Southern Arizona Leadership Council and the DM50. He was named businessman of the year in 2004 by the Tucson Hispanic Chamber and father of the year in 2016 by the Tucson Fatherβs Day Council.
