- Westfield Insurance Foundation and Crest Insurance: Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona received a $11,000 grant from Westfield Insurance Foundation with the help of CREST Insurance. The grant is part of the Westfield Legacy of Caring program, which invites Westfield independent insurance agents to nominate a local nonprofit in the areas of disaster recovery, insurance pathways, family stability or safety. The money will be used for the new Angels Place for Girls & Girl Scout Leadership Campus.
- RBC Wealth Management: The investment firm presented a $55,000 grant to the Sonoran Institute. The funds will support water conservation in the Tucson area. RBC Wealth Management’s Tucson office was founded in 1954 and has 17 senior advisors.
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Straight Alliance Fund: The LGBT&S Alliance Fund is granting $52,835 to 13 regional nonprofit agencies. The organization works to support innovative programs and initiatives that benefit the LGBT&S community in Southern Arizona. Grants ranging from $1,600 to $5,000 were awarded to: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson; BICAS; El Rio Foundation, Inc.; Jewish Community Center; Mariposas sin Fronteras; Our Family Services; Pima Council on Aging; Camp Born this Way; Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation; Southern Arizona Gender Alliance; Southern Arizona Senior Pride; University of Arizona Museum of Art; and PFLAG.
- American Red Cross and Fry’s Food Stores: The Ame
- rican Red Cross is partnering with Fry’s Food Stores in Arizona to aid victims of the Goodwin Fire near Prescott and other wildfires. Fry’s customers can make coin canister donations now through July 31 to the Red Cross as they check out at any register at Fry’s Food Stores locations statewide. All proceeds will benefit the disaster relief efforts of our local Arizona chapters. In addition to collecting donations, Fry’s is providing $10,000 in supplies for personal care items given to those displaced by wildfires.
