Solar Panel Installation

Tucson Electric favors reducing the credits customers get for excess solar generation and increasing some monthly fees.

Arizona Corporation Commission hearings on on proposed new rates for solar customers of Tucson Electric Power rates start Monday, Oct. 23, in Tucson, with a public-comment session at 10 a.m. at the state building at 400 W. Congress St., room 222.

Evidentiary hearings on the case, which also covers customers of TEP sister utility UNS Electric, will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the same location and continue until Nov. 2. A Corporation Commission administrative law judge will hear testimony and make a recommendation to the full commission, which is expected to issue a final order sometime in February.

TEP has proposed lower credit rates for excess production for customers who sign up to install solar after the effective date of the new rates.

The hearings will be webcast on the Corporation Commission website atΒ www.azcc.gov/livebroadcast.asp

Consumers can also file comments in the case via email or the commission website.
