Tucson Electric Power Co. has unveiled a new online map showing local power outages.
TEP, which serves about 400,000 customers in the Tucson area, also has set up a Twitter account people can follow for outage updates.

The map includes information on time and current status of each outage, the number of customers affected and restored to service, estimated time of service restoration and the cause of each outage.
While the online map is βmobile-friendly,β there is no related mobile app β at least not yet.
TEP is looking into developing a mobile app that could include a way for users to report outages while on the go, but no final decisions have been made, TEP spokesman Joe Barrios said.
