Gas prices

Gas prices dropped in 47 states over the past week, as prices continued to fall across Arizona, in Tucson and nationwide, AAA says.

This week, the statewide average dropped more than 4 cents to $2.16 per gallon of regular on Thursday while nationwide, prices fell by about the same amount to $2.14.

Tucson kept the state’s lowest average price, falling about 4 cents in week to $1.93 per gallon on Thursday, and many stations are selling gas for below $1.90.

Flagstaff has the state’s highest average gas price, down about a penny at $2.42 per gallon on Thursday.

AAA says abundant fuel supplies and declining crude-oil costs are helping push down pump prices, and barring unforeseen circumstances, gas prices will likely remain low for the rest of the summer.
