JCPenney is back in the major-appliance business, and Tucson will be one of the first markets for a nationwide rollout Friday, Sept. 30, when appliances will be available at Penney’s El Con store, 3601 E. Broadway.
Other Arizona stores rolling out appliances Friday are at Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale, the Shops at Lake Havasu in Lake Havasu City and Paradise Valley Mall in Phoenix.
The Texas-base retailer is re-entering the appliance market after 30 years off, following what the company calls “an extremely successful three-market pilot.”
Appliances will be phased in with a 500-store nationwide rollout to be completed this fall, and online at jcp.com.
Each store will have 100 to 215 appliances models on display, including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers and dryers from brand names including Samsung, LG and GE.
JCPenney also is offering no-interest financing, free delivery, and a price match guarantee. Check with stores for terms and restrictions.
