Construction is underway at the future home of The Yard restaurant, formerly Grant Road Lumber, at 2543 E. Grant Road. Grant Road Lumber closed in August 2015 after 66 years in business. The Star reported in October that the establishment is being built by Tucson restaurateur Sam Fox and is slated to open this fall. The Yard will be a 19,000-square-foot complex that will feature a covered yard with couches, fireplaces and games. It will also have a 150-seat dining room for private parties, weddings and corporate events, the Star reported.
