Tucson-based Barrio Brewing Co. has licensed its brand to a Mesa restaurant operator who plans to open a Barrio-branded brewpub at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority announced that its board approved a 10-year lease with Kind Hospitality Inc. for a restaurant and catering concession in the airport's general aviation center at 5803 S. Sossaman Road.
Barrio Brewing is expected to open in the fall, the airport said.
Mesa-based Kind Hospitality is licensing the Barrio Brewery brand from Barrio owners Dennis and Tauna Arnold. The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and will serve alcohol, the airport said.
Kind Hospitality, formerly Premiere Airport Food Services, operates Paradise Bakery & Cafe franchise locations at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway, along with New York Pizza Dept. at Sky Harbor and Copper Plate An American Grill at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway.
