- Yelp Foundation Gives Local: Three Tucson organizations have been awarded Yelp Foundation Gives Local grants. As the first place grant winner, Literacy Connects is using its $5,000 award to support birth to adulthood literacy programming. Heirloom Farmers Markets was awarded $3,000 and the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation will receive $2,000. The mission of the Yelp Foundation is to address the needs of local communities, including access to information, education, local economic development, and freedom of expression.
- Tucson Airport Authority: The TAA has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada. The award recognizes public sector entities that have gone beyond the minimum requirements in preparing their comprehensive annual financial reports. It indicates that the organization has shown evidence of transparency and full disclosure.
- Our Family Services: Received a $5,000 program grant from the Arizona Diamondbacks. The money will be used on housing and homeless services for families in Tucson.
- Leed & Leed Inc.: Has been recognized as one of the top-performing agents and brokers in the country by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
