Land is being prepped for a future apartment complex to house chronically homeless people.

La Frontera received a $20.6 million permit to construct the 40-unit complex at 375 W. Blacklidge Drive, near Glenn Street and Oracle Road.

Miracle Point Apartments is a 33,070-square-foot development being constructed by Canyon Building & Design.

Other construction activity around town includes:

  • Alta Vista Communities Casas Adobes LLC got a $3.3 million permit for the first 64 of a planned 240 units at 750 W. Orange Grove Road.
  • A $4.2 million foundation permit was issued for the future student housing tower at 950 N. Tyndall Ave.
  • Marist on Cathedral Square got a $12.6 million permit for construction of a seven-story affordable housing complex at 111 S. Church Ave. The 105,476-square-foot project is being built by Tofel Construction Inc. and will have 75 senior living units.
  • Marist on Cathedral Square also received a $1.8 million permit to restore the building at 235 S. Church Ave.
  • Safeway is building a $6.1 million, 60,000-square-foot store at 13380 E. Mary Cleveland Way in the Rancho Del Lago subdivision and a $261,000 fuel station/convenience store.
  • Dollar General received a $1 million permit to build a 9,100-square-foot store at 6780 N. Sandario Road.
  • Chipotle is building a $300,000 shop at 1202 W. Irvington Road.
  • Barro’s Pizza is coming to the Continental Ranch Retail Center. The $200,000 permit is for a 4,600-square-foot shop at 5884 W. Arizona Pavilions Drive.
